IBM has announced the opening of watsonx AI Labs in New York City, as stated in a press release. This new innovation hub aims to accelerate AI development by connecting IBM's resources with AI developers to create breakthrough applications for businesses.

Located at IBM's offices in One Madison, the lab will serve as a collaborative space for IBM researchers, engineers, startups, and large enterprises. The goal is to unlock real-world value from AI by co-creating domain-specific solutions that address complex challenges such as customer service, supply chain optimization, and cybersecurity.

The lab will also support New York City's growing AI ecosystem, which includes over 2,000 AI startups. IBM plans to collaborate with local universities and research institutions, providing technical expertise, mentorship, and potential investment opportunities through IBM Ventures.

Additionally, IBM announced the acquisition of expertise and technology from Seek AI, a startup focused on leveraging AI to harness enterprise data. This acquisition will enhance the capabilities of watsonx AI Labs, furthering IBM's commitment to fostering innovation in the AI sector.
