The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has deepened its collaboration with Sweden's academic and research institutions, reinforcing Hong Kong's role as a bridge for Sino-Swedish innovation.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has deepened its collaboration with Sweden's academic and research institutions, reinforcing Hong Kong's role as a bridge for Sino-Swedish innovation, announced in a press release. Led by President Professor Nancy Ip, a high-level delegation from HKUST visited Sweden to forge partnerships in fields such as life sciences, HealthTech, energy, and robotics.

The visit builds on a longstanding partnership between Sweden and China, leveraging Hong Kong's strategic position to connect Sweden's innovation strengths with China's research capabilities and market potential. HKUST engaged in strategic dialogues with premier Swedish institutions, including the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, Karolinska Institutet, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

Key objectives of the collaboration include strengthening joint research initiatives, expanding scholar exchange programs, and facilitating technology transfer between Europe and Asia. This enhanced partnership aims to accelerate breakthroughs that address global challenges, positioning Hong Kong as a leading international innovation hub.
