Google Enhances Gemini with New AI Image Model
Google has launched the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, an upgraded AI image model designed to enhance the capabilities of its Gemini chatbot. This new model allows users to make precise edits to images using natural language requests, maintaining the consistency of details such as faces and animals.
The Gemini 2.5 Flash Image is available to all users through the Gemini app, as well as to developers via the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, and Vertex AI platforms. The model is priced at $0.039 per image, based on output tokens.
This update aims to provide users with greater creative control, enabling them to blend multiple images, maintain character consistency, and perform targeted transformations. Additionally, the model incorporates world knowledge to enhance its image generation and editing capabilities.
Google has implemented safeguards to limit the creation of inappropriate content and applies visual watermarks to AI-generated images to address concerns about deepfake imagery. The company continues to refine its AI models to balance user creativity with responsible use.
