GLOBO KAI AI Interpreter Expands to 3,000 Healthcare Sites
GLOBO Language Solutions has announced the nationwide availability of its AI interpreter, GLOBO KAI, at 3,000 healthcare provider sites across the United States. Announced in a press release, the AI interpreter is designed to assist clinicians and healthcare staff in communicating with patients who have limited English proficiency (LEP).
The GLOBO KAI interpreter supports over 20 languages, including Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Portuguese-Brazilian, with plans to add more languages. The AI-powered service is accessible through the GLOBO Connect App, providing linguistic support at various touchpoints in the healthcare journey.
Pilot testing of the AI interpreter demonstrated increased patient engagement and operational efficiencies. At Affinia Healthcare in St. Louis, Missouri, the technology reduced wait times and streamlined patient flow, particularly in non-clinical, administrative settings. This rollout aims to address communication gaps and improve compliance with Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) standards.
GLOBO's CEO, Dipak Patel, highlighted the potential for significant cost savings in healthcare through the use of AI interpretation, which could reduce expenses by streamlining interactions with LEP patients. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance patient engagement and care quality while reducing overall healthcare costs.
