Francisco Partners has agreed to acquire Canadian payments company Moneris from BMO and RBC for about C$2.0 billion, with closing expected by the end of the banks' first fiscal quarter of 2027.

Moneris and Francisco Partners announced in a press release that Francisco Partners has agreed to acquire Moneris from BMO Financial Group and RBC for cash consideration of about C$2.0 billion. BMO and RBC will each receive 50 percent of the proceeds.

The agreement includes long term referral arrangements with BMO and RBC, under which both banks will refer customers to Moneris. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions, including reviews under Canada's Retail Payment Activities Act and Competition Act.

Jeff Sloan, former President and CEO of Global Payments, will join Moneris as chairman after the transaction. Moneris said it has nearly 2,000 team members in Canada and supports payments at more than 325,000 points of commerce.

The deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of BMO and RBC's fiscal year 2027.

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
