Flipkart to Hire 5,000 Employees in 2025 for Quick Commerce and AI Expansion

Flipkart plans to hire 5,000 employees in 2025 to support its growth in quick commerce, fintech, and AI, as announced at a recent townhall event.

Flipkart is set to hire 5,000 new employees in 2025 as part of its strategy to expand in quick commerce, fintech, and artificial intelligence. This hiring initiative was announced during the company's internal townhall event, Flipster Connect, held on May 26.

The new roles will primarily support Flipkart Minutes, the company's hyperlocal delivery service, and Super.money, its fintech platform. The hiring drive aligns with Flipkart's broader strategy to scale up these verticals while preparing for a potential IPO and shifting its legal domicile from Singapore to India.

Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy highlighted that Flipkart Minutes is performing well, with plans to establish 800 dark stores by the end of the year. This move positions Flipkart to compete with other players in the quick commerce space, such as Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart.

Additionally, Flipkart is increasing its investments in AI, with spending in this area rising six-fold this year. The company aims to enhance its offerings and customer experience through these technological advancements.
