OpenAI Launches Frontier Platform for Enterprise AI Agents
OpenAI has introduced Frontier, a platform designed to help enterprises build, deploy, and manage AI agents, according to an announcement on the company's website. Frontier enables organizations to create AI coworkers that can perform complex tasks using shared business context, permissions, and feedback systems.
The platform integrates with existing enterprise tools and systems without requiring replatforming. It connects data warehouses, CRM systems, and applications to provide AI agents with a unified understanding of business operations. These agents can reason over data, complete tasks such as running code or handling documents, and improve performance through built-in evaluation and optimization.
Early adopters of Frontier include Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Intuit Inc., Oracle, State Farm, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Uber. Existing customers like BBVA, Cisco, and T-Mobile have already piloted the platform. Frontier is currently available to a limited set of customers, with broader availability expected in the coming months.
OpenAI is also working with a group of Frontier Partners—AI-native firms such as Abridge, Clay, Ambience, Decagon, Harvey, and Sierra—to develop and deploy applications built on the platform.
