Baidu Unveils M100 and M300 AI Chips to Strengthen Domestic Computing
Baidu unveiled two new artificial intelligence chips at its annual developer and client event, according to the South China Morning Post. The M100 and M300 are designed to deliver powerful, low-cost, and domestically controlled AI computing power to support China's self-sufficiency goals.
The M100, developed by Baidu’s chip unit Kunlunxin Technology, focuses on improving inference efficiency for models using the mixture-of-experts technique. It is expected to launch in early 2026. The M300, aimed at training large multimodal models with trillions of parameters, is scheduled for release in 2027.
At the same event, Baidu also introduced new supercomputing products designed to link multiple chips for enhanced performance. The company continues expanding its AI infrastructure as part of efforts to reduce reliance on foreign semiconductor technology.
