Apple Introduces AI-Powered App Review Summaries in iOS 18.4

Apple's iOS 18.4 update, currently in public beta, introduces AI-generated summaries of App Store reviews, using large language models to condense user feedback into concise paragraphs.

Apple has introduced AI-powered app review summaries as part of its iOS 18.4 update, which is currently in public beta. Announced on their website, this new feature uses large language models (LLMs) to generate concise summaries of App Store reviews, providing users with a quick overview of feedback left by others.

The AI-generated summaries will be refreshed weekly for apps and games that have accumulated enough reviews, although Apple has not specified the exact threshold required. Initially available in the U.S. in English, the feature will expand to additional markets and languages throughout the year. Users can report issues with the summaries by tapping and holding on them, while developers can use App Store Connect to alert Apple to any problems.

This feature is part of a broader update that includes other enhancements such as expanded language support for Apple Intelligence, new Control Center options for Siri, and an AI-powered feature to prioritize important notifications. The full release of iOS 18.4 is expected in April.
