Anthropic is in early talks to raise between $3 billion and $5 billion in a new funding round, which could more than double its valuation to over $150 billion. This comes just months after the AI startup closed a $3.5 billion round at a $61.5 billion valuation.

The discussions reportedly involve prominent investors from the Middle East, with MGX, a state-owned AI investment firm from the United Arab Emirates, showing interest in participating. If successful, this funding round would significantly elevate Anthropic's standing in the AI sector, positioning it as one of the most valuable AI firms globally.

The potential valuation increase also highlights the growing interest and investment in AI technologies from Gulf states, which are increasingly becoming key players in the global AI infrastructure landscape. Despite being unprofitable, Anthropic continues to attract substantial investment to support its advanced AI model development and deployment.
