Axiom Partners Launches $52M Fund for Practical AI Startups
A new venture capital firm, Axiom Partners, has launched with a $52 million inaugural fund to support early-stage startups building practical AI solutions, announced in a press release. The firm focuses on what it calls “AI for the Real World,” targeting companies that use artificial intelligence to address global capacity shortages and deliver scalable value across industries.
Founded by Sandhya Venkatachalam, formerly of Khosla Ventures and Social Capital, Axiom Partners secured commitments from eight institutional investors and executives from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Nvidia, and AMD. The fund aims to back startups that apply AI to expand access to skilled services in areas such as healthcare, education, and financial advice.
The firm’s leadership team includes Evan Morikawa, former Head of Engineering at OpenAI, and Kipp Bodnar, Chief Marketing Officer of HubSpot. Together, they will help founders navigate AI development, user experience, and early-stage growth.
Venkatachalam has previously invested in companies including Groq and Fireflies.ai, bringing a track record of supporting AI ventures from early stages to scale.
