Anthropic Offers Government Agencies 40% Claude Discount
Anthropic announced on its website an expanded partnership with the U.S. General Services Administration that gives government agencies a 40% discount on Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API. The agreement covers federal, state, local, tribal and territorial governments.
Agencies can receive the discount when buying directly from Anthropic, with purchases through cloud providers planned for the coming months. The products are available through the GSA Multiple Award Schedule without a minimum spending commitment, and agencies pay for the usage they consume. Anthropic estimates the discounts could save governments $1 billion.
Anthropic will also offer a dedicated implementation program for agencies. About 500 US federal, state and local government organizations use Claude, while weekly active users of Claude for Government have increased about eightfold since February.
