Anthropic Releases Claude Agents and Microsoft 365 Add-ins for Financial Services

Anthropic announced in a press release the release of ten agent templates designed for financial services work such as building pitchbooks, screening KYC files, and closing books at month end. The agents are available as plugins in Claude Cowork and Claude Code, or as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents on the Claude Platform.

Each agent template includes task-specific skills, governed data connectors, and subagents for specialized tasks. They can be customized to match a firm's modeling conventions and compliance requirements. The agents can run interactively with analysts or autonomously across large-scale workflows, with full audit logs available in the Claude Console.

Anthropic also introduced Claude add-ins for Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with Outlook support coming soon. These add-ins allow Claude to carry context between applications, enabling tasks such as building financial models in Excel, drafting decks in PowerPoint, and editing reports in Word without re-entering information.

The company expanded its partner ecosystem with new data connectors from Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Financial Modeling Prep, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, SS&C IntraLinks, Third Bridge, and Verisk. In addition, Moody’s launched an MCP app integrating its credit ratings and data for use within Claude.

The new agents and connectors are available now through Anthropic’s financial services marketplace for paid plan users, while the Claude for Outlook add-in will be released soon.
