Alibaba.com Introduces 'AI Mode' to Power B2B Trade with Agentic AI

November 14, 2025
Alibaba.com has launched 'AI Mode', a new feature integrating agentic AI into its B2B e-commerce platform. The rollout follows strong growth, with European orders up 57% and global supplier numbers rising 50%.

At its CoCreate Europe event in London, Alibaba Group’s B2B platform Alibaba.com announced in a press release the launch of 'AI Mode', a new feature embedding agentic AI capabilities directly into the user experience. The company reported a 57% year-on-year surge in European orders and a 50% increase in active global suppliers.

AI Mode, set to roll out in December, will interpret natural language queries, analyze technical specifications, and automatically compare suppliers by price, logistics, certifications, and production capacity. It connects with Alibaba.com’s existing services, including secure payment, Trade Assurance, and after-sales support, to enable a fully automated trade process.

The feature is powered by Accio, Alibaba.com’s AI-driven B2B search engine launched in 2024. Accio uses multimodal understanding to process inputs such as sketches, blueprints, and certificates, helping businesses discover specialized suppliers often overlooked by keyword-based searches.

According to company research, 90% of European SMEs now prioritize product innovation, and 62% express confidence in using AI tools for sourcing and design. AI Mode is designed to support these businesses in navigating compliance, identifying sustainable partners, and accelerating product development.
