Akash Systems Launches Diamond-Cooled AI Servers with AMD Instinct GPUs
Akash Systems has introduced the first AI servers cooled with diamond-based technology, announced in a press release. The systems, equipped with AMD Instinct MI350X GPUs and built by MiTAC Computing, represent the first commercial deployment of Akash’s Diamond Cooling technology for AMD GPUs in AI data centers.
The company stated that the servers can reduce GPU temperatures by up to 10°C, cut cooling power consumption by as much as 100%, and deliver up to 22% more FLOPs per watt in standard data center conditions. In high-temperature environments, performance improvements of up to 15% were reported.
Akash Systems received $300 million in initial orders for the servers and plans to extend Diamond Cooling support to additional AMD Instinct models, including the MI355X and future GPUs later this year. The company is backed by Khosla Ventures and Founders Fund.
