Scrum Alliance and Johns Hopkins University have introduced healthcare AI courses, while Simplilearn and Carnegie Mellon University are offering an online program on large language model development, reliability and security. This edition also covers a Brighterly survey in which 58.6% of parents of high achieving students said their child struggled or fell behind in math or reading during the past year.

Abre and illumine have released AI agents for district data and childcare operations, with access controls and data protection features. Elsewhere, Huawei has launched its AI Practice LAB for university teaching, and Pathify will discuss AI governance, readiness and technology consolidation at EDUCAUSE 2026.

Scrum Alliance and Johns Hopkins University launch two on demand courses covering responsible AI in healthcare and data driven clinical and operational decisions. Participants who complete the courses receive microcredentials, a digital badge and a two year professional membership, with two further courses planned. Read more
Simplilearn and Carnegie Mellon Launch LLM Skills Program
Simplilearn and Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science Executive and Professional Education launch an eight week online program on large language model development. The course covers context engineering, retrieval augmented generation, AI agents, reliability and security, with hands on projects and a verified Carnegie Mellon University certificate. Read more
Brighterly survey finds 58.6% of high achieving students fell behind
A Brighterly survey of 1,177 U.S. parents found that 58.6% of parents with mostly A or A and B students reported their child struggled or fell behind in math or reading in the past year. Half of respondents said AI tools could make it easier for children to conceal gaps in understanding. Read more

Abre launches Vera, an AI analytics agent for school districts that answers questions about student, staff, operational and financial data. The agent is integrated with Abre Data Intelligence Platform and includes dashboards, alerts and role based access controls. Read more

illumine introduced three AI agents for childcare enrollment, billing and classroom activity management. The tools handle inquiries, tours, reporting and classroom observations, with data segregation, role based access and encryption controls. Read more
ScrollEd turns textbooks into AI generated short form feeds
ScrollEd converts textbooks and text files into scrollable learning feeds featuring AI generated video, audio, text and quizzes. The Palo Alto startup launches its consumer service at TechCrunch Disrupt and targets students, institutions and corporate training programs through a freemium model. Read more

Huawei launches its AI Practice LAB solution for universities at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai. The platform uses industry cases, anonymized data and engineering tools for practical AI training, and was developed with 12 partners. Read more

INSEAD introduces commercially available Immersive AI Cases through INSEAD Publishing. The interactive business learning tools let participants make decisions, engage with AI generated characters and receive personalised feedback, adding to INSEAD's portfolio of more than 40 AI powered learning experiences. Florida Board of Education adopts AI rules for schools and colleges
The Florida Board of Education approved rules requiring parental notice and consent for student use of AI instructional tools in public schools. The measures also set restrictions on emotionally simulated AI tools and require AI policies at Florida College System institutions. Read more
ETERC introduces Ele AI mentor for engineering education
ETERC presented Ele, an AI mentor designed to support engineering learning in underserved public schools. The tool provides personalized guidance, assists teachers and is intended to help students build problem solving skills while retaining their decision making role. Read more

Quinnipiac University and Verndale report that an AI agent model repurposes existing university stories for digital channels. The organizations say the approach improved content optimization and marketer productivity, while marketers retain strategic and final approval responsibilities. Read more
