Wuhan Launches AI+ Initiative with Significant Funding Opportunities
Wuhan has launched an ambitious 'AI+' initiative, offering substantial funding opportunities for AI projects, announced in a press release. The initiative aims to promote the application of large AI models across more than 20 industries, with individual projects eligible for up to 20 million yuan in funding.
The initiative is part of Wuhan's broader strategy to develop a comprehensive AI industry ecosystem. It includes ten key measures focused on technological breakthroughs, computing power enhancement, and model innovation. The city plans to allocate at least 10 million yuan annually in computing power service subsidies to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Wuhan's AI industry is projected to exceed 70 billion yuan by 2024, with over 1,000 companies contributing to an average annual growth rate of more than 30% over the past three years. The city has also deployed the world's first multi-modal large model with over 100 billion parameters, "Zidong Taichu" 3.0, and a domestic general-purpose large model R&D platform.
Key focus areas of the initiative include humanoid robots, intelligent connected vehicles, and dataset construction. Wuhan aims to advance the development of a full industrial chain for humanoid robots, promote the mass production of intelligent driving models, and enhance dataset quality through classified development of public, enterprise, and personal data.
