November 07, 2025
University of Houston Law Professor Seth J. Chandler has launched an AI tool powered by Google's Gemini model to help journalists cover the Supreme Court case Learning Resources v. Trump, offering document-based insights and media-ready explainers.

University of Houston Law Professor Seth J. Chandler has launched an interactive AI tool to assist journalists covering the upcoming Supreme Court case *Learning Resources v. Trump*, announced in a press release. The case, set for hearing tomorrow, could influence presidential authority over trade and economic policy.

The tool, hosted on Chandler’s website, is powered by Gemini by Google through the NotebookLM platform. It allows media professionals to ask specific questions about the case and receive responses grounded in court filings, briefs, and legal documents. Access requires a Gmail login.

Features include prebuilt two-minute explainer segments in English and Spanish, concise summaries of the case’s key issues, and an interactive question feature tailored for journalists. Unlike general-purpose chatbots, the system is trained exclusively on case materials to ensure accuracy and minimize misinformation.

Chandler, who also authors the legal education blog legaled.ai, described the tool as part of a broader effort to make complex legal proceedings more accessible to the public. The resource is free for media use and will be updated with a transcript of the oral arguments following the hearing.
