Trump Consulted Grok Before Maduro Capture, Report Says

President Donald Trump spent hours consulting Grok during a private meeting with Elon Musk in December 2025, about a month before US forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, TechCrunch reports, citing Time. Trump reportedly asked the chatbot how Venezuelans would respond to Maduro's capture.

Grok, developed by xAI, responded that Maduro was deeply unpopular and that many Venezuelans would probably celebrate his removal. US forces invaded Venezuela and captured Maduro on January 3, 2026.

After public celebrations followed the operation, Trump reportedly concluded that Grok was ingenious. The account was attributed to an unnamed source familiar with the December meeting.
