TikTok launches AI shopping assistant and direct checkout
TikTok is rolling out an AI shopping assistant and direct checkout within its app, according to TechCrunch. The tools let users research products and buy directly from brands without leaving the For You feed.
The conversational assistant remembers preferences during a conversation and provides product details, sizing, availability and shipping information. It can also guide users through completing a purchase.
The checkout feature supports purchases from the For You feed with one click. TikTok is building the tools with commerce and payment providers including Salesforce, Shopify, Shoplazza and Stripe.
