Swarmer Buys Vataga Drone Technology and Hires 15 Staff
Swarmer agreed to acquire rights to part of Vataga's hardware and software intellectual property, according to MarketWatch. The autonomous drone company will also hire Vataga CEO Maksym Melnyk and 14 members of its hardware research and development team.
Melnyk will become Swarmer's vice president of hardware and report to Alex Fink, the company's US CEO. The companies did not disclose financial terms.
Vataga, a Ukrainian defense technology company, will continue operating as an independent drone manufacturer after the transaction.
"Bringing battle-tested hardware capabilities in-house means we can create reliable full-stack solutions," Fink said. He said the combined priority is scaling swarming-enabled FPV drones and interceptors in combat.
