Singapore Financial Firms to Train 80,000 Workers in AI by 2028

Twenty three financial firms will train their entire Singapore based workforce in critical AI skills through recognised programmes by 2028.

Singapore's financial services sector has launched the AI Workforce Co Lab, with 23 firms committing to train more than 80,000 employees in AI skills by 2028, according to Finextra. Deputy Prime Minister and Monetary Authority of Singapore chairman Gan Kim Yong unveiled the plans.

The participating banks, insurers and asset managers will train their entire Singapore based workforce in critical AI skills through programmes recognised by the Institute of Banking and Finance.

The Co Lab will bring employers and partners together to assess how financial jobs are changing. It will also test practical methods for employee training and job redesign.
