Shanghai Electric Shows Industrial Robots and AI Factory Tools at WAIC 2026
Shanghai Electric announced in a press release that it showed embodied intelligence robots and AI native smart factory systems at WAIC 2026 in Shanghai. The display covered robot systems, core components, industrial software, and smart factory architecture for manufacturing tasks.
The company showed robots for connector insertion, electrical operations, flexible sorting, intelligent assembly, and pipe processing. Its SUYUAN bipedal humanoid robot has 41 degrees of freedom, visual sensing on the head and torso, and a dual battery hot swap system. The TUOYUAN wheeled humanoid robot is designed for connector insertion, material sorting, and loading or unloading automotive sheet metal parts.
Shanghai Electric also presented the Mermaid bionic wheeled humanoid robot, which can identify buttons, knobs, and air switches and generate operation paths. Its autonomous pipe inner wall chamfering robot is built for confined spaces and can process hole edges with accuracy within 1 millimeter while transmitting data in real time.
The company launched 51 AI models and agents under its StarCloud Intelligent Manufacturing series for research and design, production and manufacturing, and operations and maintenance. It also released an AI native smart factory white paper describing a system with an AI factory brain, industrial agents and embodied robots, and a physical twin for factory data and operations.
