SETI Researchers Add NVIDIA Powered AI Agents to Allen Telescope Array
Breakthrough Listen and the SETI Institute have added AI agents to the Allen Telescope Array using Holoscan from NVIDIA, according to a company blog post. The agents can steer the telescope, calibrate its instruments, correct data errors and apply AI models through natural language requests.
The system sends telescope data directly into GPU memory for processing instead of storing it on hard drives first. It can handle 2.4 terabits per second on RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, with inference running on premises beside the telescope.
NVIDIA, which sells the Holoscan platform, says the pipeline achieved the first real time AI detection of a pulsar, in the Crab Nebula. The team is also evaluating open models, including NVIDIA Nemotron, for cases where data locality matters and for observatories that may someday run offline on the far side of the moon.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
