Semtech Expands Optical Portfolio for AI Data Centers
Semtech Corporation has announced the expansion of its optical communications portfolio, targeting the needs of next-generation AI data centers. In a press release, the company detailed its advancements in 200G per channel Physical Medium Dependent ICs (PMDs) and its ongoing development of 400G per channel technology. These innovations are designed to support future 800G and 1.6T modules, paving the way for 3.2T connectivity.
Semtech's new 200G per channel FiberEdge™ PMDs are engineered to meet the increasing demands for higher bandwidth density, power efficiency, and space constraints in AI data centers. The company is also investing in 400G per channel technology to enable 3.2T modules, reinforcing its leadership in high-performance connectivity solutions.
The 200G per channel PMD solutions are now available, featuring components like 112GBd PAM4 Transimpedance Amplifiers and Laser Drivers. Meanwhile, the 400G per channel solutions are in active development, with samples available to select customers.
