Scalekit Launches Authentication Stack for AI Agents with $5.5M Funding

Scalekit has launched a new authentication stack designed specifically for AI agents, alongside securing $5.5 million in seed funding. The funding round was led by Together Fund and Z47, with additional support from angel investors including Adam Frankl and Oliver Jay, announced in a press release.

The authentication stack addresses the growing need for secure identity and access management as AI agents increasingly interact with business applications and APIs. Scalekit's solution offers a developer toolkit that ensures agent identity verification and enforces precise access controls. This is particularly crucial as traditional identity systems, which assume human interaction, struggle to accommodate the autonomous nature of AI agents.

Scalekit's platform provides a turnkey OAuth 2.1 authorization server and an encrypted token vault, enabling AI agents to perform actions on behalf of users in applications like Gmail, Slack, and Notion. The company plans to expand its capabilities with features such as background agent support and prebuilt connectors for over 1,000 external apps.

The founders, Satya Devarakonda and Ravi Madabhushi, bring experience from scaling authentication systems at Freshworks, aiming to address the challenges of agent identities that exist in code rather than user directories. Scalekit's modular approach allows developers to integrate only the necessary components, facilitating quick deployment without extensive refactoring.
