Saudi Arabia Embraces Fourth Industrial Revolution for Economic Diversification
Saudi Arabia is advancing its industrial sector through the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), aligning with Vision 2030 to diversify the economy, as announced in a press release. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Kingdom is focusing on innovation, advanced technology, and sustainable growth.
Central to this transformation are technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and 3D printing, which are enhancing productivity and streamlining supply chains. The National Industrial Strategy supports these efforts with initiatives such as the Future Factories Program, aiming to convert 4,000 traditional facilities into smart factories.
The Industrial Production Index (IPI) saw a 6.5% increase in July 2025 compared to the previous year, driven by manufacturing activities. This growth reflects the impact of ongoing industrial development programs. The upcoming Industrial Transformation Saudi Arabia 2025 event in Riyadh will showcase the latest 4IR technologies and foster international partnerships for localizing advanced industrial solutions.
