SAS has unveiled new AI agents with customizable human-AI interaction, designed to enhance decision-making transparency, announced in a press release. The SAS Viya platform supports these agents with built-in governance and explainability, allowing organizations to design, deploy, and scale AI agents with a balance of human and AI autonomy.

The agentic AI framework by SAS is structured around three main pillars: decisioning, human and AI balance, and governance. This framework combines deterministic analytics with large language models to ensure precise and reliable outcomes, while maintaining necessary business guardrails. Organizations can adjust the level of AI autonomy based on task complexity and risk, ensuring that AI agents operate autonomously in routine tasks while humans oversee strategic decisions.

SAS emphasizes the importance of governance in AI, providing a framework that ensures AI agents adhere to ethical standards, maintain data privacy, and align with business values. This approach is designed to meet regulatory scrutiny and enhance trust in AI systems. SAS Viya supports the entire lifecycle of AI agents, from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring, embedding auditability and compliance into every agent.

The announcement was made at SAS Innovate, highlighting SAS's commitment to responsible AI innovation and its role in advancing enterprise AI adoption.
