SANY Group Deploys 1,000th Electric Excavator and Expands AI Equipment Portfolio
SANY Group has deployed its 1,000th electric excavator, marking a key step in its move toward electrified and intelligent construction machinery, according to a press release. The company has also begun commercial sales of 5G remote-controlled excavators and put its fleet of unmanned rollers into service.
SANY has invested over 6 billion RMB annually in research and development to transition from traditional manufacturing to robotics and artificial intelligence. Its SY550HD excavator features 5G remote control capability with stable latency between 120 and 140 milliseconds, allowing real-time operation from distances up to 8,500 kilometers. The system supports public, private, and hybrid networks.
The machine integrates proprietary 3D motion and depth sensing with load assistance systems to replicate on-site conditions. This enables operators to perform precise tasks in complex environments such as mines or emergency sites. Safety functions include personnel detection, collision prevention, and equipment condition monitoring through AI-based sensors.
SANY plans to continue investing in electric propulsion systems, AI-assisted operations, unmanned construction, digital platforms, and integrated mining equipment to expand the commercial application of its intelligent machinery portfolio.
