SamaCare Releases Benchmarks for Medical Benefit Prior Authorization Performance
SamaCare announced in a press release the launch of its Medical Benefit Prior Authorization Benchmarks, a dataset that offers visibility into approval rates and time to therapy for specialty medications. The dataset is based on real prior authorization activity from tens of thousands of specialty practices using SamaCare's platform.
The benchmarks provide quarterly insights into two key metrics that affect patient access to therapy: Net Approval Rate and Mean Time to Resolution. These measures track how payer policies are applied in practice and how quickly patients move from authorization to treatment.
In addition to the public benchmarks, SamaCare is offering life sciences organizations the option to generate custom Access Snapshots for individual therapies. These reports provide deeper insights into approval performance, time to therapy, and the main factors influencing access barriers.
The release arrives amid growing attention to prior authorization reform and transparency in healthcare administration.
