Prosper AI Estimates $108 Billion Revenue Opportunity for Specialty Practices
Prosper AI said in a press release that US specialty medical practices could recover up to $108 billion in annual revenue by using AI for administrative tasks. The company estimates an opportunity of about $125,000 per physician each year across dermatology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, primary care and orthopedics.
The estimate includes $44,800 per physician from answering missed calls and filling schedules, $37,400 from bringing patients back for follow up care, $28,500 from preventing avoidable claim denials and $14,100 from recovering unpaid patient balances. The report found that one in six calls goes unanswered during office hours, while only 54% of patients due for a follow up visit return on schedule.
The research combined Prosper AI interaction data covering more than $3 billion in managed care with specialty data from the Medical Group Management Association. It also included calls to about 2,000 practices across 29 states and data from federal health agencies and peer reviewed studies.
Prosper AI sells AI agents that handle calls and administrative work for medical practices, and the revenue figures are its own estimates.
