Salsa Secures $20M Series A to Expand Embedded Payroll Services
Salsa, a leading provider of embedded payroll infrastructure, has announced a $20 million Series A funding round led by Altos Ventures. This funding round also saw participation from Greycroft, SemperVirens, Definition, and Better Tomorrow Ventures, bringing Salsa's total funding to $30 million. The company plans to use the funds to enhance its ability to integrate payroll functionality into software platforms across all 50 U.S. states and Canada.
Salsa has experienced significant growth, expanding its reach by more than tenfold in 2024 and doubling again in early 2025. The company's platform allows software providers to embed payroll services quickly, reducing the time to launch from months to weeks. This capability is particularly beneficial for industries with complex payroll needs, such as healthcare and beauty, where Salsa's solutions simplify compliance and operational challenges.
The funding will enable Salsa to further develop its automation and support capabilities, ensuring that its partners can focus on their core operations without the burden of managing payroll intricacies. Salsa's infrastructure is designed to handle everything from worker onboarding to tax filings, making it a comprehensive solution for modern payroll needs.
