RWS Releases Trados Studio 2026 with Integrated AI Translation Tools
RWS announced in a press release the launch of Trados Studio 2026, the latest version of its computer-assisted translation software. The new release introduces a redesigned architecture, context-aware AI features, and enhanced terminology management aimed at improving performance and workflow for translation professionals.
Trados Studio 2026 incorporates direct integration with Language Weaver Pro, RWS's AI translation engine released in March 2026. The integration allows users to access large language model capabilities within the Trados environment, producing more accurate first drafts while maintaining control over terminology and client-specific requirements. The software also supports third-party AI models such as ChatGPT, Claude, and DeepSeek.
The updated version improves support for large translation projects through faster file opening and handling, with internal testing showing performance up to seven times faster than previous versions. The new architecture supports larger files, expanded translation memories, and richer termbases, improving stability and speed for teams managing complex workloads.
Trados Studio 2026 also introduces context-aware AI translation. Instead of processing content sentence by sentence, it takes the broader document context into account, generating suggestions that better reflect intended meaning and tone. The software is available now through subscription and upgrade options.
