Raiven Capital has announced a strategic investment in Vertical Harvest, a leader in vertical farming, to enhance global food resilience through AI and sustainable agriculture.

Raiven Capital has announced a strategic investment in Vertical Harvest, a company recognized for its innovative approach to vertical farming. Announced in a press release, this investment aims to advance global food resilience by leveraging AI and sustainable agriculture practices.

Vertical Harvest's flagship farm in Westbrook, Maine, showcases the potential of vertical farming by producing the equivalent of 250 acres of traditional farmland on just half an acre. This is achieved using 95% less water and the lowest energy consumption per pound of food. The company collaborates with partners like Elevated Signals and Siemens to create a scalable platform for sustainable food production in the Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) space.

Raiven Capital views the integration of AI with CEA as essential, similar to its role in autonomous vehicles or drug discovery. This combination enhances resource efficiency, improves margins, and increases scalability, making CEA a viable Climatech solution. Vertical Harvest also focuses on inclusive employment, offering tailored careers for underrepresented workers, including people with disabilities, thus turning high-tech farming into a means of social mobility.
