Protocol Infrastructure Launches Robot Fleet Framework for Commercial Buildings

Protocol Infrastructure has released the Protocol Asset Index, a framework that assesses whether commercial buildings can support robot fleets from multiple suppliers.

Protocol Infrastructure launches the Protocol Asset Index, a vendor neutral framework for coordinating robot fleets from multiple suppliers in commercial buildings, the company said in a press release.

The index assesses a property's physical constraints, network continuity and API readiness. It produces a remediation roadmap, a technical specification sheet for procurement and a machine readable map of access paths, interfaces and constraints.

Protocol OS and Protocol SDK will follow in the first quarter of 2027. Protocol OS will connect robot fleets with elevators, automatic doors and access control systems, while the open source SDK will let robotics companies access certified buildings without creating a separate integration for each property. The company says Protocol OS will process fleet identity and transit events without collecting video or tenant personal information.
