Pangram Raises $9M for AI Content Detection Tools

Pangram has raised $9 million in a round led by Menlo Ventures and launched new text and image detection models, according to TechCrunch. The round also included Haystack, ScOp, Script Capital, and Cadenza.

The company launched Pangram 4, its new text detection model, and Pangram Image, an image detection model now available in research preview. Pangram says Pangram 4 is more than 99% accurate at identifying AI assisted writing and mixed human and AI content, and can detect text changed by AI humanizer tools.

Pangram says its system was trained on tens of millions of human documents and matching synthetic versions created with large language models. The model analyzes writing patterns rather than relying on copied metadata or hidden watermarks.

The product is available through a $20 per month web subscription, a Chrome extension, and an API. API customers include Substack, Quora, schools, publishers, agents, and recruiters.
