O'Shaughnessy Ventures Supports Robotics Innovator Alexandros Petkos
O'Shaughnessy Ventures has awarded a $100,000 fellowship to Alexandros Petkos, a young robotics engineer based in Athens, Greece, announced in a press release. Petkos plans to use the fellowship to develop open-source, general-purpose autonomous robots designed to perform hazardous and repetitive tasks.
Petkos, who has been recognized for his work in robotics since his teenage years, aims to address labor shortages across various industries by integrating advanced AI models into these robots. His previous achievements include building a robot capable of lifting and placing cardboard boxes and a four-legged robot that can walk and navigate, which earned him a spot on Forbes Greece's '30 Under 30' list in 2022.
The O'Shaughnessy Fellowships program, launched in 2023, seeks to empower creators and innovators by providing financial support and access to a network of experts. Petkos is the eleventh fellow announced in 2025, with the program planning to award a total of 12 fellowships this year.
