NVIDIA and Qualcomm Ventures Join $1B Coalition to Support India’s Deep Tech Startups

November 05, 2025
NVIDIA and Qualcomm Ventures have joined a $1 billion coalition of U.S. and Indian investors to back India’s deep tech startups, aligning with the country’s new ₹1 trillion research and development initiative.

NVIDIA and Qualcomm Ventures have joined a $1 billion coalition of U.S. and Indian investors to support India’s deep tech startups, reports TechCrunch. The group, known as the India Deep Tech Alliance (IDTA), was launched in September to align with India’s new ₹1 trillion ($12 billion) Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) initiative.

NVIDIA is joining the alliance as a strategic technical advisor without making a financial investment. The company will provide technical training through the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute, share best practices for AI and accelerated computing, and participate in policy discussions to advance India’s deep tech ecosystem. Vishal Dhupar, NVIDIA’s managing director for South Asia, said the company will also offer scalable computing resources to startups in the coalition.

Qualcomm Ventures is joining with an investment focus, contributing to a total of more than $850 million in new commitments from participating investors. The firm plans to connect Indian startups with its network of portfolio companies and internal teams. Qualcomm’s previous investments in India include MapmyIndia and drone maker IdeaForge.

The IDTA, led by Celesta Capital, includes venture firms such as Accel, Blume Ventures, Premji Invest, Gaja Capital, Ideaspring Capital, Tenacity Ventures, and Venture Catalysts. It aims to invest and mentor Indian deep tech startups over the next decade while collaborating with the government under the RDI scheme, which funds projects in quantum computing, robotics, space technology, and AI.
