Nvidia to Acquire CoreWeave's Unsold Compute Capacity for $6.3 Billion
CoreWeave and Nvidia have entered into a significant agreement where Nvidia will purchase any unsold compute capacity from CoreWeave. The deal, valued at $6.3 billion, extends through April 13, 2032. This arrangement ensures that CoreWeave's data center capacity is fully utilized, providing the company with financial stability and allowing it to invest confidently in infrastructure expansion.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nvidia is obligated to buy any residual cloud capacity that CoreWeave cannot sell to its own customers. This commitment provides CoreWeave with a guaranteed revenue stream, reducing the risks associated with unused computing power.
The partnership builds on an existing relationship between the two companies, with CoreWeave specializing in AI-specific infrastructure that leverages Nvidia's graphics processing units. This collaboration not only secures a dedicated distribution channel for Nvidia's computing hardware but also positions CoreWeave advantageously in the growing AI infrastructure market.
