Nasuni Study Finds 97% of Companies Adopting AI Agents but Most Projects Miss Targets

Nasuni's 2026 research report reveals that nearly all companies are adopting AI agents, yet more than half of these projects fail to meet expectations due to challenges in managing unstructured data.

Nasuni announced in a press release the findings of its 2026 annual research report, which shows that 97 percent of companies have implemented or are testing AI agents. However, 57 percent of these projects are not meeting their objectives.

The study identifies data management as the main obstacle to achieving success with AI. According to the report, 94 percent of organizations struggle with unstructured data, which makes up most of their data footprint.

Currently, only 16 percent of companies treat unstructured data management as a core IT investment. Despite this, 60 percent plan to increase spending in this area within the next 18 months, reflecting a growing focus on improving data handling to support AI outcomes.
