Mphasis Acquires Theory and Practice to Expand Decision Intelligence Capabilities

Mphasis has acquired Theory and Practice Business Intelligence, the Vancouver-based developer of Continuum AI, to strengthen its decision intelligence offerings and integrate advanced behavioral economics into enterprise solutions.

Mphasis has acquired Theory and Practice Business Intelligence, a Vancouver-based technology company known for its Continuum AI platform, announced in a press release. The acquisition aims to enhance Mphasis' decision intelligence capabilities by combining artificial intelligence with behavioral economics.

Theory and Practice, founded in 2018, developed Continuum AI to help enterprises in financial services, retail, and consumer goods turn data into actionable decisions. The platform supports a wide range of enterprise decision processes, from descriptive analytics to predictive modeling and optimization.

The deal includes an upfront payment of CAD 10 million, with additional contingent consideration of up to CAD 20 million based on performance milestones. Following the acquisition, Theory and Practice founder Dr. Rogayeh Tabrizi will join Mphasis as Executive Vice President for CPG and Head of Decision AI.

Mphasis stated that Continuum AI will serve as a decision intelligence layer within its NeoIP platform, enabling advanced modeling, causal inference, and optimization for enterprise clients. The integration is expected to accelerate decision-making and improve business outcomes across industries.
