Microsoft and Abu Dhabi-based G42 announced a 200-megawatt expansion of data center capacity in the UAE, to be delivered through Khazna Data Centers as part of Microsoft's $15 billion investment plan in the country.

Microsoft and Abu Dhabi-based G42 announced a 200-megawatt data center capacity expansion in the United Arab Emirates, according to a joint statement on G42’s website. The project forms part of Microsoft’s $15 billion investment plan in the country and will be delivered through Khazna Data Centers, a G42 subsidiary.

The new capacity is expected to begin coming online before the end of 2026. The expansion will add to the region’s AI and cloud infrastructure, supporting Microsoft Azure’s secure and sovereign cloud services.

Both companies said the project aligns with the UAE’s digital economy strategy and will provide computing resources for public and private sector organizations. It follows Microsoft’s earlier investment of $1.5 billion in G42 and ongoing collaborations in AI research and cloud development across Abu Dhabi.
