Meta Opens Muse Avatar Video Chat to All US Users

Meta is making Muse avatar video chat available to all users in the US. The feature supports live voice conversations with a customizable animated character.

Meta is making its previously previewed Muse avatar video chat available to all users in the US, TechCrunch reports. The Muse Voice feature works on mobile devices, the web and Mac.

The feature uses the Muse Realtime Avatar and Muse Realtime Voice models to support live conversations. Its default animated avatar, called Jolly, uses expressions and gestures that match the conversation. Users can customize the avatar as a person, animal or other character.

Muse hears users but does not see them. Meta plans to bring the feature to its AI glasses and the upcoming Muse Charm wearable.

In its announcement, Meta said users can choose voice only, keep the avatar next to the chat or go full screen, pick from hundreds of voices, and interrupt Muse mid-answer. Conversations start from the phone icon in the top-right corner of the Muse app, iClarified reported.

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
