Meta Launches Llama Startup Program for Generative AI Development
Meta Platforms, Inc. has introduced the Llama Startup Program to support early-stage startups in developing generative AI applications using its Llama models. The program offers direct support from Meta's Llama team and potential funding for eligible U.S.-based startups. Companies that have raised less than $10 million and have at least one developer on staff can apply by May 30, 2025.
Participants in the program may receive up to $6,000 per month for six months to offset costs associated with building and enhancing their AI solutions. This initiative aims to provide startups with the resources needed to innovate and scale their technologies without immediate financial constraints. The program also includes hands-on technical support to help startups effectively leverage Llama's capabilities.
The launch of this program is part of Meta's broader strategy to strengthen its position in the competitive open model space, where it faces challenges from rivals like DeepSeek and Google's AI initiatives.
