Lunit AI Supports Mass Screening During 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia

Lunit's AI-based chest X-ray analysis tool, Lunit INSIGHT CXR, was utilized by the Saudi Government and Seha Virtual Hospital for mass screening during the 2025 Hajj season, aiding in the detection of respiratory diseases among millions of pilgrims.

Lunit has announced that its AI-based chest X-ray analysis solution, Lunit INSIGHT CXR, was employed by the Saudi Government and Seha Virtual Hospital for mass screening during the 2025 Hajj season. In a press release, it was detailed that the AI tool was used to detect respiratory diseases among millions of pilgrims from June 4 to June 9.

The Hajj, one of the world's largest annual gatherings, attracts over 2 million pilgrims from more than 160 countries. During this period, Saudi health authorities focus on early detection of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, pneumonia, and MERS. Lunit's AI technology facilitated rapid triage and timely treatment by automatically analyzing hundreds of thousands of chest X-rays to identify abnormalities.

This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 healthcare strategy and marks another milestone in Lunit's collaboration with Seha Virtual Hospital, the world's largest virtual hospital. Lunit INSIGHT CXR was previously integrated into SVH's national screening program in July 2023, with plans to expand across more than 170 medical sites in the Kingdom.
