Lucid Bots Launches Robotic Painting System with Sherpa Drone
Lucid Bots has introduced a new painting and coating capability for its Sherpa Drone, marking a significant advancement in commercial robotic systems, announced in a press release. This innovation allows the Sherpa Drone to automate painting tasks at scale, offering a solution that is three times faster and nearly half the cost of traditional methods.
The Sherpa Drone can reach heights of up to 160 feet and cover more than 200 square feet per minute, operating continuously with a power tether. This new capability is particularly timely, as the construction industry faces a labor shortage and increased demand due to infrastructure investments. The system's modular design allows existing customers to upgrade without major equipment changes.
Lucid Bots' expansion into the $237 billion commercial painting market is driven by the need for safer and more efficient solutions in the construction industry. The Sherpa Drone's painting module is already being used in high-impact projects such as stadium waterproofing and highway graffiti removal, demonstrating its practical application and effectiveness.
