Lightera to Expand Fiber Manufacturing for AI Infrastructure
Lightera announced in a press release plans to expand global manufacturing capacity for optical fiber and optical fiber cable to support demand from AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, cloud services, and communications networks.
The expansion includes investments in the United States and affiliated manufacturing capabilities in Brazil, Japan, and India. The company said customer demand, including long term purchase commitments, supports the added capacity.
Additional production capacity is expected to begin coming online in the second half of FY2028. Lightera said the expansion covers optical fiber and rollable ribbon cable, which are used in fiber dense networks for data centers and cloud infrastructure.
