LG Electronics Opens Smart Factory in Brazil
LG Electronics announced in a press release that it has opened a new smart factory in Paraná, Brazil, using AI and industrial robotics in its production systems.
The facility covers about 770,000 square meters and has annual capacity for about 600,000 refrigerators. LG said the site represents an investment of about USD 310 million, or BRL 1.5 billion.
The Paraná factory is LG's second home appliance production base in Brazil, joining its Manaus plant in Amazonas. The company said the new plant will first serve Brazil's domestic market and support wider production flexibility in Latin America.
