Government of Jordan and Replit Launch AI Learning Assistant 'Siraj'
The Government of Jordan has partnered with Replit to launch the pilot phase of *Siraj*, an AI-powered learning assistant for students and teachers, announced in a press release. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Education and the National Council for Future Technology, aims to enhance education through generative AI.
Siraj provides curriculum-aligned answers and resources drawn from official textbooks, offering an interactive learning experience in Arabic. The platform functions as a conversational search tool designed for accessibility without technical expertise.
Developed by Amer Abulaila using Replit’s agentic software platform, the pilot version was built in under a month. It has already served over 100,000 students and teachers, recording more than 600,000 interactions. Following the pilot, the Ministry plans to expand Siraj nationwide to reach 1.6 million students and 90,000 teachers.
According to the Ministry, Siraj supports self-directed learning and personalized academic assistance while reducing the workload for teachers and parents. Replit CEO Amjad Masad said the project demonstrates how governments can use AI to improve educational outcomes and accessibility.
