JAMS Software Adds AI Agent and MCP Connector to Job Scheduling

JAMS Software has launched JAX and JAMS MCP for enterprise job scheduling. The tools let IT teams query, diagnose, and manage automation in plain language while keeping operations inside the customer's network.

JAMS Software has launched JAX, an AI agent for its JAMS Web Client, and JAMS MCP, a Model Context Protocol connector for external AI tools, the company announced in a press release. Both are generally available to JAMS Web customers at no extra cost.

JAX lets users find jobs, diagnose failed jobs, and ask questions about how to use JAMS in plain language. Its answers are grounded in the JAMS user guide and checked against a built in glossary. It acts only after a user request, and write actions require explicit user approval before they run.

JAMS MCP connects JAMS to tools such as Cursor, VS Code with Copilot, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Codex. Users can query jobs, investigate failures, and manage runs from those tools while using the AI model already connected to the tool.

Both features run inside the customer's own network and act with the permissions of the signed in JAMS user. There is no separate AI account with elevated access. Operations are recorded in a dedicated log, and changes made through the JAMS API are recorded in the JAMS audit trail. In the current release, neither feature can edit or delete a job, folder, schedule, or agent definition.
